WHAT THE KBCA DOES FOR BASKETBALL COACHES
1. The only organization in the
State existing solely for the good of basketball, the coaches, and the players
of Kansas.
2. Honors for coaches: Awards given
for career wins and years of coaching. A certificate for 100 &
200 wins, and 10 years of service. A plaque for 300, 350, 400, 450, 500
and etc. for career wins. A plaque for 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and etc. years of service. Sponsored
by MAYB.
3. Sponsor of the Top All-Star Game
in Kansas. The top 24 girls and 24 boys in the state.
KBCA members receive free admission to this game with a new membership sold at
the game.
4. Sponsor of the Awards and Honors
Reception for Kansas Coaches. Recognition given to Coaches
with career victories, years of service, "Coaches of the Year",
special honors for coaches, and selection of "Hall of Fame" members.
5. Sponsor of "Hall of
Fame" display at the Sports Arena in Hutchinson. Members are encouraged to
submit names and teams of "Hall of Fame" selections. At least three
are inducted each year.

7. Members receive free admission to
most of the high school's home games with a current membership card.
8. Members receive free admission to
most of the college's home basketball games, with the exception of the three
major colleges, with a current membership card.
9. Members participate in the
selection of "Mr. & Miss Kansas
Basketball Players", through your class rep. Nomination form on the web site.
10. Coaches help in the selection of
All-State players for each class. Nomination form on the web
site.
11. Member Coaches help in the selection of Academic All State players.

12. Players of KBCA members are eligible for the KBCA scholarships. Scholarship
forms are listed on the web site.
13. Selection of
"Coach-Of-The-Year" honors junior high coaches, high school coaches,
and college coaches with plaques.
14. The KBCA has representation at
the Executive Board meeting of the KSHSAA for possible rule changes or other
changes involving basketball.
15. Honors retired coaches with the
title associate member, which makes these coaches
eligible for years of service and career wins certificate and plaques.
16. Has a weekly ranking of the Top
10 schools in each class for girls and boys. Coaches are encouraged to help
your class reps with the rankings.

17. Championship rings are given to
the State Champion Coaches in each class sponsored by Jostens. Junior High ÒCoaches of the YearÓ
who are selected each year, receive a ÒCoach of the YearÓ ring also.
