Information: A Clint & Billie Hill Scholarship in the amount of $200.00;

Spalding Sports Worldwide is awarding five scholarships of $200.00 each.

A Jim & Jean Baker Scholarship of $200.00; A $250.00 Ottawa University ÒYes I Can Basketball Camp ScholarshipÓ; A LaVetta M. Loring Scholarship of $200.00,

Two MAYB Scholarships of $200.00 each.

 

 

 

All scholarship money will be sent directly to the recipient. A three-person scholarship committee will review the applications received and make the final selections. Application deadline will be March 20. The applicant must be a member of his\her basketball team during their senior season and must earn a varsity letter in basketball for the senior season. The coach of the applicant must be a member of the KBCA. The selections will be based on the following.

 

 

 

  1. Academic Potential
    1. GPA (seven semester grade point average)
    2. Rank in class (seven semesters)
    3. Test results (ACT or SAT composite scale score)

 

  1. Basketball Ability
    1. Honors won (all-league, all-state, etc.)
    2. Individual basketball statistics
    3. Coaches letter of recommendation

 

  1. Leadership Qualities
    1. School honors (offices held, awards, etc.)
    2. Letters of recommendation from candidateÕs high school principal or

Note: These scholarships will be awarded only to those who have graduated from a Kansas High School during the year the award is

offered. Preference will be given to applicants who show evidence

of academic promise, show outstanding basketball achievements
